Frisco RoughRiders Full-Time Fall/Spring Internship

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Schedule RoughRiders mascot appearances and escort RoughRiders mascots to different events around DFW area. This includes extensive driving and weekend and evening work.
• Manage RoughRiders donation program and coordinate pick-up times.
• Compile donation bags and organize in storage closet.
• Record all donation requests on master spreadsheet.
• Schedule and conduct ballpark tours.
• Assist in creating, developing and implementing community development programs and events.
• Assist in picking up event supplies and donations from sponsors and foundation supporters around Dallas.
• Manage inventory of promotional and autographed items.
• Work select game dates in April and May to help with game promotions, tours and silent auctions.
• Make cold calls to potential businesses about supporting the RoughRiders Foundation through in-kind and monetary sponsorships and donations.
• Additional duties as needed.

Qualifications and Compensation:
• Must be able to work these hours:
o Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.
o Extensive weekend and evening work for community programs, events, and games
• Must live in the Dallas area and be able to provide own transportation to ballpark, various community events and donations and supply pick-up.
• Candidate should be mature, responsible, dependable and able to work well independently while providing consistent updates to supervisor.
• Exceptional organizational ability and attention to detail are extremely important.
• Must possess above-average oral and written communication skills.
• Must be outgoing and comfortable speaking to large groups.
• The successful candidate will be adaptable, versatile and tactful in dealings with the public, partners, players and staff.

Corporate Partnership Internship - Frisco RoughRiders (Frisco, TX)

The Frisco RoughRiders, located in a northern suburb of Dallas, are the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. The RoughRiders broke AA attendance records and revenue records for all of Minor League Baseball in their first season, 2003. Since then, they’ve led the Texas League in attendance every season.

You’ll be working in the Corporate Partnerships department with the RoughRiders.

Job Description: Become an integral part of the Frisco RoughRiders Corporate Partner Services Team for the 2017 fall semester. The Corporate Partner Services team performs the necessary duties required to fulfill all the elements of our corporate partnerships, in addition to going above and beyond to ensure partner satisfaction.  You will interact regularly with our sponsors, community partners, fans, and other RoughRiders staff members. This opportunity will provide you with knowledge and experience in sports sponsorships.

Responsibilities: Assist Corporate Partner Services department in day to day business; assist in execution of sponsor promotions; help create ideas for business to business, employee, and consumer driven promotions; ensure that sponsor contracts are carried out effectively through signage, media, and promotion; constantly monitor satisfactory sponsor/team relationship as well as general office duties such as database work.

Helpful attributes: hard working, creative, detail-oriented, knowledge of baseball, efficient, very friendly and able to talk to unfamiliar individuals, presentable at all times, a good time manager, ambitious, and very self-starting.

Requirements: Flexible schedule (including nights and weekends).  Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office are required.  A knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and a background in business is beneficial, but not required. Marketing background is a plus.

Human Resource Director - Frisco RoughRiders (Frisco, TX)

GENERAL PURPOSE

The Human Resource Director is an integral team member of the RoughRiders providing direction and support in all employee matters.  The HR Director oversees all operational aspects of the RoughRiders Human Resources offering HR expertise and guidance in the areas of policy interpretation and compliance, performance management, recruitment, employee relations and organizational effectiveness. This includes health and welfare benefits management, 401(k) administrations, payroll oversight, departmental and compensation budgeting, census/data compilation, policy writing and management, employee welfare, and compliance auditing and research.

The Director of Human Resources shares supervisory responsibility for the HR/Accounting Assistant, and as a result, has oversight responsibility for the various administrative tasks and responsibilities, employee welfare events, HR file and record-keeping systems and special projects for which he/she is responsible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Building a strong talent plan for the organization including recruitment, workforce and succession planning, talent development and performance management

Oversight of employee retention and relation program development and implementation

Supervises the HR/Accounting Assistant; Provides mentoring, support, guidance, oversight and development on a regular basis

Oversight of entire payroll process performed primarily by the Accounting Assistant; Ensures tax and other related filings and forms are completed, distributed and/or filed compliant with IRS and all applicable laws and timelines; Conducts audits and seeks to improve payroll related processes

Manages the onboarding process for all new hires; Creates new hire schedules and leads orientation meetings; Owns management of new hire orientation materials and creation of new hire packets with the assistance of the HR/Accounting Assistant

Maintains and updates employee benefits programs by assessing benefit trends and needs; recommending new and improved benefit programs and plan design changes for existing programs

Manages established company benefit programs such as life insurance, health, dental, vision, disability insurance, FSA and 401(k)

Coordinates the annual benefit renewal process; Communicates with benefit broker, schedules renewal review meetings, reviews all benefit renewal materials and manages annual renewal process internally with employees

Assists with the resolution of employee performance and/or employee relations issues or needs

Participates in the process to document personnel issues and develop corrective action plans

Manages employee leave consistent with the requirements of the FMLA as well as internal processes and procedures related to leave administration

Stays up to date on all legal compliance issues impacting HR, conducts audits, investigates issues related to policy violations and works with the Chief Operating Officer on risk management and workplace safety related issues

Researches and drafts new policies to add to Employee Handbook; Maintains and updates existing policies and Employee Handbook as a whole on an ongoing basis; Administers and maintains policy management system; Ensures timely and compliant roll-out of new or revised policies

Performs benefits administration including claims resolution; Oversees all benefit enrollment, changes and terminations resulting from new hires, qualifying events and employee terminations; Oversees benefit related documentation

Manages employee terminations including the pre-termination exit strategy as well as the preparation of all termination related paperwork; Conducts exit meetings with departing employees depending on the type of and reason for termination; Ensures the collection and protection of company information and assets during management of termination process; Works with managers to develop continuity and/or coverage plans as needed

Works with the VP of Accounting and Finance on larger organizational strategic projects as needed; and protects company assets through the proper management of asset files and adherence to company policy with regard to information security and management.

 Outstanding organizational and time management skills; Capable of effective planning and priority setting

Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of benefit plan designs; Knowledge of benefit contract language

Ability to understand, evaluate and make judgment on vendor proposals

Excellent interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact well throughout the organization and within the HR team

Excellent writing skills including effective comprehension and communication

Duties:

Model and reinforce the RoughRiders "expectations" of positivity, work ethic, professionalism, respect and being the best you can be

Visit clients and prospects on game nights, working a minimum of fifty five game nights

Qualifications:

College degree preferred

Internship or 1 year of sales experience (ticket sales preferred)

Strong communication and listening skills

Ability to handle multiple tasks

Willingness to learn

Available to work games, nights and weekends as assigned
