Digital Marketing Manager - Frisco RoughRiders (Frisco, TX)

We are looking for a full-time, Digital Marketing Manager with a strong work ethic, solid social media and design background, strong organizational skills and a willingness to learn.  The position is with the Frisco RoughRiders Baseball Team.  Located in a northern suburb of Dallas, we’re the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. The RoughRiders broke Double-A attendance records and revenue records for all of Minor League Baseball in their first season, 2003, and have since led Double-A and the Texas League in attendance every season. 

We need you to help market our organization effectively in the digital space.  You’ll take the reins and be responsible for developing, initiating, creating and overseeing a long-term digital marketing campaign as well as spearheading all of the club’s social media efforts. We’re looking for someone with experience in copywriting, art direction and the major social media platforms who can expand our brand’s reach while increasing brand loyalty and awareness.

The Digital Marketing Manager will be an instrumental part of the RoughRiders, working directly on four main pillars of the Marketing department:

 

A.  Digital Marketing

  • Develop, initiate, and create our long-term digital marketing campaign
  • Manage digital advertising schedule and due dates for the year
  • Point of contact for all digital marketing and advertising efforts for the club and its partners: Dallas Morning News Connect, Hibu, Quantcast, multiple social media platforms, etc.
  • Generate reports on our marketing campaign’s performance
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership on marketing goals and results

B.  Social Media

      Oversee team’s social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.) with the goal of creating content to expand our brand, drive ticket sales and engage our community though fun, interacting and engaging campaigns/posts

  • Create and execute team’s social media schedule/calendar
  • Ability to produce and design social media and marketing graphics using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, etc.)
  • Assist with team’s overall marketing and promotional initiatives through social media
  • Report on team’s social media engagement and growth by using a multitude of social analytics
  • Assist with planning of long-term social, digital and marketing initiatives and strategy
  • Monitor and respond to all in-bound social media messages in a timely manner
  • *Please Note: We view Social Media is a full-time commitment.  You will be required to be ready, and “on-call” the majority of the time (including nights, weekends, holidays, etc.)

C.  Email Marketing

  • Create fun, engaging and creative content for all email campaigns
  • Layout, design and send each email campaign (homestand emails, sales initiatives, community outreach, etc.)
  • Work directly with various departments (marketing, sales, community) and our Graphic Designer to create content
  • Consistently generate ideas and implement ways to grow database/email list
  • Keep email database up to date
  • Mine/compile data from all databases and accounts (with assistance from Director of Ticket Operations), sponsor promotional entries, in-stadium entries, online entries, and out-of-stadium entries

D.  Marketing and Promotions

  • Create Lead Forms for Sales, Community, Sponsorships, Event RSVPs, etc.
  • Create custom URLs (working with MLBAM) for each Lead Form
  • Assist with sourcing and procurement of promotional items
  • Brainstorm and develop ideas to add new layers to all club promotional activities, both via social media and in-stadium (be a contributor to our entire promotions/game entertainment team)
  • Assist with ballpark events on a limited basis

All other tasks, assignments, and duties as necessary.

This is a full-time salaried position. Standard full-time benefits will be offered including Medical, Dental, Vision, Long-Term Disability Insurance, 401k, paid holidays and vacations.

1 to 2 years of social media and digital advertising experience with a professional or college sports program is required.  2 to 4 years’ experience highly preferred.

We need you to be the person behind all visual components of our brand.  We’re looking for someone who can take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into images, layouts and other creative designs. The successful candidate should have an intimate understanding of graphic design and attractive visual layouts. We work in a fast-paced environment, so the ideal Graphic Design Coordinator will be able to hit the ground running as soon as they come on board and will be prepared for an influx of projects during their first few weeks.  This pace will not slow down and will only increase as we get closer to the start of the 2018 season.

You’ll have the opportunity to own creative projects and will responsible for designing all of the collateral for the team. We’re looking for that creative superstar with solid graphic design experience to enhance each visual element of our brand and who wants to ultimately grow within this organization.

The Graphic Design Coordinator will be an instrumental part of the RoughRiders Marketing department.

Responsibilities:

A. This position will be responsible for the coordination of day-to-day tasks associated with production of the Game Program, with the goal to create the best possible publication for our fans and Corporate Partners. Duties associated with this project involve:

  • Idea generation, interviews, photographs and all other elements necessary in the development of lead and secondary editorial. This includes a two-page feature story for each production run as well as additional one-page content pages. Assist Marketing and Promotions on the development of promotional content and advertising placements in support of partner objectives.
  • Create and implement all design elements necessary for the production of Game Program. This includes covers, some ads, story content, etc.
  • Point of contact for communication between the third-party vendor and the RoughRiders for the production of Game Program.  Assist in nightly prep work for Game Program (delivery confirmation, setup, etc.)

B. Marketing & Promotions Graphics Projects

  • Design and create all digital and print collateral for the team including, but not limited to: 
    • Promotional graphics and logos
    • Game Program covers and ads
    • Website ads
    • Theme jerseys
    • Press Release graphics
    • Promotional flyers
    • Promotional displays
    • Coupons or vouchers
    • RiderVision graphics

Merchandise Seasonal Assistant Internship - Frisco RoughRiders (Frisco, TX)

Summary: This position reports directly to the Merchandise Manager. This person should be an outgoing energetic and creative professional who is a clear self-starter. This position is responsible for assisting with the day to day operations of the Riders Outpost Team Store and online Team Store.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Assist with inventory management and planning of RoughRiders branded merchandise

·         Learn the methods of creating and ordering merchandise for the store

·         Assist with all pre-event and event operations within the department

·         Coordinate the game-day set up of merchandise selling locations

o   Including but not limited to stocking merchandise and daily cleaning

·         Manage the Rider’s store from customer service to display of product and inventory management

·         Learn the POS register/inventory system to be able to troubleshoot issues and assist with maintaining product database

·         Work with the Merchandise Manager to oversee game-day staff and help with hiring and scheduling

·         Keep online Team Store up to date with new merchandise and correct inventory

o   Fulfill and ship online orders

·         Assist with development and execution of marketing plan for merchandise department

·         Any other jobs that are necessary to improving the overall operations of the Team Store and the RoughRiders Operation

QUALIFICATIONS

·         High level of integrity.

·         Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator experience a plus but not required

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office

·         Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize goals.

The Frisco RoughRiders play at beautiful Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco. Overview:

The Ticket Operations Internship (January 2018 to September 2018) is designed to prepare you for a career in sports business, specifically in ticket operations and sales. In this role you will gain experience while supporting the Ticketing department overseeing Ticket Sellers, learning the building blocks of sales and customer service, and improving our ticket distribution system.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

-  Assist with the sale of individual game tickets, customer service, and season ticket exchanges

-  Assist with the printing, filing, and distributing of Will Call tickets

-  Supervise part-time Ticket Sellers in conjunction with Ticket Operations Coordinator and Director of Ticket         Operations. Responsible for scheduling and tracking hours

-  Review and perform balancing and reporting of game day receipts, as required

-  Learn operational policies and procedures for ticket operations

-  Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements:

-  Priority will be given to fourth year students and recent graduates

-  Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

-  Strong written and verbal communication skills

-  Experience with TicketReturn, or another ticketing system preferred.
