Graphic Design Coordinator - Frisco RoughRiders (Frisco, TX)

We are looking for a Graphic Design Coordinator with a strong work ethic, a solid graphic design background and a willingness to learn.  The job is with the Frisco RoughRiders Baseball Team.  Located in a northern suburb of Dallas, we’re the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. The RoughRiders broke Double-A attendance records and revenue records for all of Minor League Baseball in their first season, 2003, and have since led Double-A and the Texas League in attendance every season.

We need you to be the person behind all visual components of our brand.  We’re looking for someone who can take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into images, layouts and other creative designs. The successful candidate should have an intimate understanding of graphic design and attractive visual layouts. We work in a fast-paced environment, so the ideal Graphic Design Coordinator will be able to hit the ground running as soon as they come on board and will be prepared for an influx of projects during their first few weeks.  This pace will not slow down and will only increase as we get closer to the start of the 2018 season.

You’ll have the opportunity to own creative projects and will responsible for designing all of the collateral for the team. We’re looking for that creative superstar with solid graphic design experience to enhance each visual element of our brand and who wants to ultimately grow within this organization.

The Graphic Design Coordinator will be an instrumental part of the RoughRiders Marketing department.


A. This position will be responsible for the coordination of day-to-day tasks associated with production of the Game Program, with the goal to create the best possible publication for our fans and Corporate Partners. Duties associated with this project involve:

  • Idea generation, interviews, photographs and all other elements necessary in the development of lead and secondary editorial. This includes a two-page feature story for each production run as well as additional one-page content pages. Assist Marketing and Promotions on the development of promotional content and advertising placements in support of partner objectives.
  • Create and implement all design elements necessary for the production of Game Program. This includes covers, some ads, story content, etc.
  • Point of contact for communication between the third-party vendor and the RoughRiders for the production of Game Program.  Assist in nightly prep work for Game Program (delivery confirmation, setup, etc.)

B. Marketing & Promotions Graphics Projects

  • Design and create all digital and print collateral for the team including, but not limited to: 
    • Promotional graphics and logos
    • Game Program covers and ads
    • Website ads
    • Theme jerseys
    • Press Release graphics
    • Promotional flyers
    • Promotional displays
    • Coupons or vouchers
    • RiderVision graphics
    • LED graphics
    • LCD graphics
    • Schedules
    • Calendars
    • Posters
    • Maps
    • Kiosk graphics
    • Menus
    • And more as assigned

C. Assist with RoughRiders Promotions

  • Work with the Marketing department to brainstorm and develop ideas to add new layers to all club promotional activities.  Be a contributor to our entire promotions/game entertainment team.
  • Assist with ballpark events on a limited basis

The above is a listing of general duties and responsibilities. These responsibilities will grow. Projects for Department VPs and Directors will also be an integral part of this position.  All other tasks, assignments, and duties as necessary.

This is a full-time salaried position. Standard full-time benefits will be offered including Medical, Dental, Vision, Long-Term Disability Insurance, 401k, paid holidays and vacations.

Strong communication skills (you have to like to talk to people) and a willingness to listen and learn are imperative.  Strong organizational skills are also very important as this position will work simultaneously on 5+ projects based on current workload. 

Candidate MUST have extensive experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically the following graphic design programs:

  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe InDesign

A minimum of 1 to 2 years of graphic design experience with a professional or college sports program (either at a full-time or internship level) is highly preferred.

What you will be doing:

As a Ticket Sales Coordinator your main responsibility will be selling tickets. That's priority numbers 1, 2 and 3. We’ll pay you to get experience. Then we want to pay you a lot more. If you’re reading this, most likely you’re probably looking to get into the sports industry. You may be looking for an internship to complete college or you may just be trying to break in with your first job. We'll pay you to get that experience, then promote you and more. You will be calling on potential season ticket holders, group leaders and individual ticket buyers. You will also be asked to provide excellent customer service. We’ll buy into you, invest our time into your career and put you on a path to success.

Responsible for 100+ cold calls per day

Utilize cold calling, LinkedIn and emails to connect with prospects and clients

Generate new and return business from clients and prospects

Completing weekly and monthly sale reports

Renew, expand and service accounts

Model and reinforce the RoughRiders "expectations" of positivity, work ethic, professionalism, respect and being the best you can be

Visit clients and prospects on game nights, working a minimum of fifty five game nights


College degree preferred

Internship or 1 year of sales experience (ticket sales preferred)

Strong communication and listening skills

Ability to handle multiple tasks

Willingness to learn

Available to work games, nights and weekends as assigned
