  • Aggressive sales of State College Spikes and PSU Baseball Season Tickets, Mini Plans, Groups, Picnics, and Birthdays in a targeted region utilizing cold calling, face-to-face appointments, and creative lead development.
  • Support of full time Ticket Sales Department including lead generation, direct mail coordination, e-marketing campaigns and general department strategic organization.
  • Provide excellent customer service and follow up for each account.
  • Management Group with proven success record and a plan for future growth.

Production Associate - State College Spikes (University Park, PA)

The State College Spikes, the Class-A Short-Season affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, are currently searching for enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and hard-working Production Associates for the 2017 baseball season. These internship-level positions will assist in planning, producing and executing all elements of “The Show” for all Penn State University and State College Spikes baseball games held at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

Job Description:

Each associate will work with the Director of In-Game Entertainment & Promotions and the Production Assistant to assist in the day-to-day production duties for PSU college baseball and the State College Spikes professional baseball franchise.  Off-season activities include graphic design, video shooting and editing, and assisting in all aspects of season preparation.  In-season responsibilities include organizing, planning, and executing all game-day events and fulfilling all game-day production needs.  Associates will also work hand-in-hand with the front office to learn various aspects of professional sports, including promotions, community relations, marketing and other disciplines.

Benefits for Interns:

The intern will learn all facets of game-day entertainment and production and have a chance to gain experience in both a collegiate and professional sports setting.  They will also gain knowledge of production software in non-linear editing and graphic design.  Associates will learn to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment, while also enjoying the excitement of working with both Penn State and the Cardinals organization. This position will help serve as a springboard to a full-time career in sports production or entertainment.

Skills Needed:

Candidates must be enthusiastic about working in sports and have an understanding of baseball.  Previous working knowledge of audio/visual equipment and production software is a plus.  Must be well organized and able to work as part of a team.

Specific Expectations:

Associates will be required to commit to working all Penn State home baseball games from March to mid-May and all Spikes home games from June until mid-September.  During both the Penn State season and Spikes season, hours will be more demanding and associates should be able to assist in all game-day operations, as well as pre-production needs on non-game days.

Associates will be compensated during Penn State and Spikes games.

Lion Country Kia Krew Member - State College Spikes (University Park, PA)

Description:  As a member of the Lion Country Kia Krew, Krew members will gain vital sports marketing and entertainment experience in various forms.  This is a part-time position that is meant to be flexible for students who are also taking classes and or have another part-time job during the summer.

Responsibilities:  During all 38 Spikes home games, Krew members will be responsible for executing all in-game promotions and on-field entertainment/contests.  This includes distributing promotional material to fans entering and exiting the ballpark, providing assistance to pre-game entertainers, and facilitating on-field promotions. Krew members are also responsible for facilitating community events and grass roots marketing needs. Other department needs;  When needed, Krew members will assist in the front office of the ballpark by answering phones, fielding calls, customer service, stocking/selling in Spikes merchandise store, mascot relations and tarping the field (morning, day or night).  

*Perform additional duties as needed


§ A strong, outgoing personality. Krew members must be willing to go above and beyond to entertain Spikes fans in and out of the ballpark.

§ Must be able to attend all 38 Spikes home games and be available to assist during non-game events such as clinics, concerts, etc.

§ Krew members will be required to report to the ballpark 3 hours before the published game time.

§ Must be able to dedicate 2 days a week prior to game time to take part in grass roots marketing efforts.

§ Interest in gaining knowledge of special events coordination and promotions

§  Krew members should be able to perform physically demanding aspects of the job and lift boxes and objects of at least 15 pounds in weight

§ Highly organized with excellent administrative and time management skills

§ Excellent people skills, with an ability to interact professionally with internal and external clients at all levels within an organization

§ Committed to ensuring superior customer service and supporting the team

§ Strong written and verbal communication skills

§ Excellent people skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff and management, professional and elite athletes, members of the media, senior government officials, and corporate representatives.

§ Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel

§ Assisting with mascot relations – facilitating community appearances

and performing as the mascot when needed.

§ Any relocation fees are the responsibility of the intern
