Ticket Operations Seasonal Assistant Internship - Frisco RoughRiders (Frisco, TX)

Overview:

The Ticket Operations Internship (January 2018 to September 2018) is designed to prepare you for a career in sports business, specifically in ticket operations and sales. In this role you will gain experience while supporting the Ticketing department overseeing Ticket Sellers, learning the building blocks of sales and customer service, and improving our ticket distribution system.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

-  Assist with the sale of individual game tickets, customer service, and season ticket exchanges

-  Assist with the printing, filing, and distributing of Will Call tickets

-  Supervise part-time Ticket Sellers in conjunction with Ticket Operations Coordinator and Director of Ticket         Operations. Responsible for scheduling and tracking hours

-  Review and perform balancing and reporting of game day receipts, as required

-  Learn operational policies and procedures for ticket operations

-  Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements:

-  Priority will be given to fourth year students and recent graduates

-  Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

-  Strong written and verbal communication skills

-  Experience with TicketReturn, or another ticketing system preferred.

-  Ticket Department, retail, or POS experience required

-  Ability to multi task

-  Ability to work nights and weekends required

Qualified candidate will receive compensation at TBD rate or stipend.

Merchandise Seasonal Assistant Internship - Frisco RoughRiders (Frisco, TX)

Summary: This position reports directly to the Merchandise Manager. This person should be an outgoing energetic and creative professional who is a clear self-starter. This position is responsible for assisting with the day to day operations of the Riders Outpost Team Store and online Team Store.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Assist with inventory management and planning of RoughRiders branded merchandise

·         Learn the methods of creating and ordering merchandise for the store

·         Assist with all pre-event and event operations within the department

·         Coordinate the game-day set up of merchandise selling locations

o   Including but not limited to stocking merchandise and daily cleaning

·         Manage the Rider’s store from customer service to display of product and inventory management

·         Learn the POS register/inventory system to be able to troubleshoot issues and assist with maintaining product database

·         Work with the Merchandise Manager to oversee game-day staff and help with hiring and scheduling

·         Keep online Team Store up to date with new merchandise and correct inventory

o   Fulfill and ship online orders

·         Assist with development and execution of marketing plan for merchandise department

·         Any other jobs that are necessary to improving the overall operations of the Team Store and the RoughRiders Operation

QUALIFICATIONS

·         High level of integrity.

·         Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator experience a plus but not required

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office

·         Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize goals.

·         Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

·         Detail oriented and strong analytical skills.

·         Strong team work ethic.

·         Strong time management and organizational skills.

·         Must have strong people skills.

·         Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

·         Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekend, and holidays.

·         Ability to work all 70 home games and miscellaneous ballpark events

ABOUT THE ROUGHRIDERS
The Frisco RoughRiders play at beautiful Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco. The franchise has led Double-A baseball in attendance for each of the past 11 seasons, and under new ownership and leadership for the 2015 season welcomed the three-largest and 7 of the top 9 crowds in team history. The RoughRiders also completely overhauled the game entertainment experience at Dr Pepper Ballpark prior to the 2015 season, installing a massive 2,700 square foot Daktronics HD video board, new outfield wall LED display boards, state-of-the-art control room and a newly-designed sound system. After unveiling new logos, team colors and uniforms before the 2015 season, the RoughRiders became one of the biggest merchandise sellers in all of Minor League Baseball.

Internship Description:

The intern will work directly with the Director of Food and Beverage for the 2018 Myrtle Beach Pelicans home games and any special events that occur at Ticketreturn.com field at Pelicans ballpark. Duties to include, but not limited to , all aspects of the food and beverage operation including unloading trucks, stocking stands, placing orders,  some accounting, cleaning, food safety and scheduling. Intern will also work with front office staff and grounds crew to ensure fans a great experience. 

Expectations, Duties and Skills :

·         Would like person with Food and Beverage experience. 

·         Knowledge of food safety a plus.

·         Strong Math Skills, experience with excel spreadsheets and or various computer programs.

·         Must be willing to work long hours, weekends and holidays from March thru September.

·         Works well with others and has good time management skills.

·         Ability to multi task and be on time.

·         Must have some interest in a career in the Food and Beverage industry and or Sports and Entertainment field.

What you will be doing:

As a Box Office/Ticket Sales Assistant, your main responsibilities will be customer service, servicing clients, helping to hit team goals, and maintaining box office operational needs.  You’ll do this by answering/returning phone calls in a timely manner, upselling potential clients at the window/over the phone, and printing/organizing tickets for delivery/shipping/will-call.  Working all possible games/events, and running the box office on non-game day Saturday’s.

Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities include but not limited to (other duties may be assigned): 

  • In and outbound season/mini ticket sales, group sales, and single game fulfillment.  Single/package allocation, database management, and game day operations.
  • Provide assistance with various marketing and promotional activities for the purpose of servicing ticket purchasers or corporate partners.
  • Work closely with Box Office Manager and Senior Director of Finance to make sure proper accounting and reporting procedures are followed, including, maintenance of account reports, daily sales tracking report, contracted sales report, attendance report, and game day audits.
  • Opening and Closing duties of Box Office.  Includes, counting monies, balancing reports, daily sales reports, upkeep of work areas, etc.
  • Provide a superior level of customer service to all suite clients, season ticket holders, plan holders, single game buyers, new business prospects and fans alike
  • Continually create and implement unique sales strategies, ideas and programs as a means of producing new business opportunities
  • Contribute positively to the sales team culture by developing mutually beneficial working relationships with all team members
  • Participate and contribute to daily or weekly sales team meetings and training sessions
  • Model and reinforce the Pelicans "expectations" of positivity, work ethic, professionalism, respect and being the best you can be

Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication, customer service and problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to function in fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects and adhere to deadlines
  • Ability to navigate the stadium in order to visit clients during home games and escort potential customers on seat tours, showing various seating options and facilities on both game days and non-game days

Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned): 

  • Excel in a fast-paced, fun sales environment utilizing the Greenberg Sports Group sales method to accomplish client goals.
  • Help in leading the sales efforts for sports organizations traveling to Myrtle Beach.
  • Help in leading the sales efforts for community partnerships.
  • Aggressive sales of Myrtle Beach Pelicans season, mini-plan, and flex-plan memberships, groups, fundraisers, and suites utilizing cold calling, face-to-face appointments, and creative lead development.
  • Provide 110% customer service and follow up for each account including activation of client results plans.
  • Must be willing to work evening hours when necessary.
  • Maximize each opportunity to expand the Pelicans brand and build community good will.
  • Start / Position: On January 8th  through the completion of the 2018 season.
  • Compensation: * $500 per month * 10% sales commission on all advanced paid ticket sales.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
